Developing the Product
Inspired by the Bauhaus
This is where it all began. A background in urban planning, and a move to Berlin, allowed us to lean in to our inspiration. Our mission became to reinvent women's clothing, so that function would be equal to form in every piece.
Our efforts recognised
Fast Company, Innovation By Design Awards
Out of more than 100 applications for the category, we were named as one of the top 10 innovators in beauty & fashion - alongside world-class designers such as Dyson.
Making headlines
Financial Times, How To Spend It
Curators of quality products, including the FT's How To Spend It, began talking about us as game-changers in womenswear.
Going Global
Singapore Airlines, Featured Brand
We went from Europe to the world, on the wings of the world's no. 1 airline. Singapore Airlines hand-selected System of Motion to be one of the first ever apparel brands to be featured on their online store; and one of only13 official stores on the site, alongside design heroes like Apple, Bang & Olufsen and Swarovski.
Going Leaner
Launching Made-To-Order
Following years of grappling with production waste, we managed to bring factories on board with the idea of smaller production runs that matched actual orders. You can now pre-order pieces, which will be made on monthly production cycles. Welcome to the age of the Made-To-Order Wardrobe.
OUR BEST-SELLER
THE NO. 1 WARDROBE HERO

WALTER
A travel essential for the modern woman. WALTER is our best-selling shirt, in our signature performance fabric that keeps you cool, comfortable and crease-free all day.
Oversized yet feminine, the classic boyfriend shirt reinvented. A loose body and dropped shoulders are paired with a formal collar and cuffs to make a new timeless staple in your wardrobe. The detailing is a mix of classic yet sporty, designed to take you from day to night.
WALTER is named after Walter Gropius, the architect, designer and pioneer of the Bauhaus - the original inspiration for System of Motion.
